Hello everyone,

I'm just starting this journey here. My Dell XPS has an i7 processor, 16 gigabytes of RAM, and an SSD drive. I've been using it for a few years now, mainly for browsing the web, which isn't very intensive.

Lately, my device has started to slow down noticeably, even when doing simple web tasks. The diagnostic tools I've run—both built-in and third-party—haven't detected any problems.

I've tried several things so far:
1. Reinstalling Windows
2. Clearing disk space and uninstalling most programs
3. Expanding the page file size
4. Adjusting power settings for optimal performance
5. Tweaking graphics settings for better speed
6. Scanning for malware
7. Physically checking the machine—cleaning fans, internal components, looking for odd signs
8. Switching between Intel and NVIDIA display adapters
9. Testing SSD errors

I'm not sure what else to do, but I know five years is a long time for a laptop. Still, I'd rather not waste money on a new one if I can't figure out why it's acting up.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, usually the fans aren't running at full speed (my way of checking the temperature, I don't have precise numbers), so I think the situation is okay.

A completely filled SSD can lead to decreased performance over time.

I removed the majority of applications and cleared out the excess files, but unfortunately that didn't resolve the issue.
