Hi, I’m working on another thread about assisting my Mum with organizing the data she gathered over the years. Among the files are old backup copies of her user accounts from previous computers. These are essentially simple click-and-drag files (backups), which is why I use the term “backups.” I’ve encountered a “you do not have permission to open this file” error when trying to access some of them. Fixing permissions for one file resolves that issue, but granting access across the root folder or individual files is taking much longer than needed, especially with the volume of data involved. Anyone know what might be going wrong or what could be causing the problem? Right now my Mum uses Windows 7, and she has older software that requires a more capable system to run an emulator for an older version of Windows. Thanks for reading this!
