I’m facing problems with my secondary laptop. It came with Windows 8, but I upgraded to 8.1. After the update, the Wi-Fi keeps showing "Limited" access. When connected via cable, everything works smoothly and I have the latest updates. I’ve changed drivers, rolled them back, tried different ones, and even disabled Bluetooth. I’m considering wiping the Wi-Fi drivers and reinstalling them, but that might reset everything. Also, there’s a recurring runtime error with the system32\logiLDA.DLL. I spoke to Microsoft about it and they suggested they could fix it for me if I buy a warranty subscription, which would cost around $99–$149. At that price, switching to another OS and key would be a much cheaper option. I’m looking for practical steps that won’t require spending a lot of money.

I've already tried resetting the modem as instructed by the troubleshooter, but it didn't work. It seems there might be an issue affecting many users, making it hard to pinpoint specific ISP hardware problems.

Yes, we confirmed that additional devices like a cell phone can connect and function on the Wi-Fi network.

It might relate to your wireless card. I switched from an Intel 4965AGN to a Ralink Wireless N, which supports Windows 8 and performs well. The old Intel model is no longer supported, so no driver was created for Windows 8, causing issues. Also, using outdated manufacturer drivers or Microsoft's ones often leads to problems. If you can afford it, get a new card. Otherwise, consider swapping cards with a working laptop if you have one.
