I frequently have to disable Wi-Fi and restart my Mac each time I connect the USB 3.0 Ethernet adapter to my 2015 MBP. It's quite frustrating having to reset between classes every time.

What model of Mac are you using? Which adapter do you have? Have you attempted to reset the PRAM and SMC? See the instructions.
