Issues surrounding Epic Games have been widely discussed.
Whenever I start an app from the Epic Games launcher, I encounter a BSOD. It usually happens immediately after enabling Easy Anticheat to verify my PC. The error code is BAD_POOL_CALLER. Even though I reinstalled Windows and wiped all partitions, it keeps occurring. New RAM I added recently might be the cause, but it doesn’t seem to affect Steam games which work fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Check if the games are on the same storage device. For Steam, they stay there after reinstall. Epic games require downloading and reinstalling from scratch.
I cleared all storage devices, and the games now reside on the same ones as before. Steam isn’t recognizing the other drives, which means I may need to reformat them. If that fails, I’ll attempt using an Epic Games app on the C drive instead of D or E.
The new drive shouldn’t cause problems. I was just confirming the epic titles were reinstalled properly. I keep my games on separate drives to avoid redownloads or reinstalls, but I only use Steam. My son also uses Epic, and his games function well on another drive as well—other than needing a fresh install, they run smoothly there too.
I recently purchased a new large-scale game on the C drive, but it won’t start there. I tried using both my current drives one at a time across all four slots, and each attempt ended in a crash. My old team group 16GB setup (two 8GB sticks) also failed to launch. I noted that instead of stopping completely, the system just became much slower before failing.
