The infamous GFWL has been removed from Dark Souls 1, which is great news for everyone... except me, who can't even play anymore. Even before that change, my main PC frequently crashed at the loading screen. After switching to Steamworks, the game no longer launches at all—nothing seems to happen when I try to open it. I think it might be related to DSFix, so I removed the game and cleared its folder from my Steam apps. That didn’t help, and the issue persists. My system specs are on the lower side, and I’m using Windows 8.1. Any advice would be really appreciated since I haven’t been able to play for a while.

I've attempted it before, but I haven't tried it again this time because I recently reinstalled it.

You need to activate Steam Build 2.0. Open dark souls, go to Properties, then Betas, and choose Steam Build 2.0 from the options.

Hey there, that really worked and supports what I thought about GFWL interfering with the launch before the migration.
