Issues reported with the 13900k EVG Z690 kingpin setup.
I assembled my newest PC using Intel components from AMD. I had to reinstall the OS once. Initially, when I set up Windows 11 Pro, it wouldn’t update past the Windows Update error messages. After resetting, all updates were successfully applied. My system includes an Intel LAN card, chipset, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth drivers, and NVIDIA driver. However, in Device Manager there’s still a single entry marked as faulty. When I search for its device ID, it shows Intel but doesn’t specify the issue. One concern is that my 13900K isn’t showing its GPU in Device Manager despite trying Intel Arc Control. That software claims it can’t locate any hardware. Also, the 13900K doesn’t boost its clock speed above 5500MHz under stress testing from Intel. Should I be able to install Intel Arc Control with this model? For an Evga motherboard, do you have a software solution that handles updates automatically? My specs are: Intel 13900K, Evga Z690, Kingpin, Corsair 32GB 5600MHz, EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3, Samsung NVMe 990 Pro SSD, Sound Blaster Ae-7, Ess Dirac, Be Quiet Dark Pro 1300 PSU. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Did you get a fresh installation or did Windows reset itself? If you choose option 2, it creates a bootable USB. Microsoft offers that on their site—just wipe the drive during setup and start over. The built-in reset doesn’t work well and often leaves significant issues. As for performance, this device isn’t very coolable, which suggests the thermal management is problematic.
Are you confirming the latest BIOS update? Make sure it matches an LGA1700 socket.
The 13900k is cooled using a specialized water loop. It features two radiators and a d5 pump; flow remains strong even at idle (24°C). Stress testing reached approximately 83°C. Intel confirms no throttling occurred. The contact frame is present, and mx-6 paste was applied. I used a bootable USB with the latest file from Ms.

I noticed your message only now. I’ve resolved the driver issue. Another user with an EVGA Z690 experienced the same problem, so we need to install an Intel NUC driver. Everything is fixed now.
