I recently purchased a new PC from PCSpecialist. While using software with windowed mode—most of the time—I experience frequent glitches. This issue doesn’t appear in fullscreen apps, likely because I don’t use them in that mode while working. For games, I’m unaffected. I suspect the system isn’t detecting the windowed session, but I’m unsure how to resolve it permanently. It seems to resolve itself after a few seconds, though if it persists, I can only temporarily fix it by pressing the window bar at the top of the app (such as Discord, Logitech G Hub, etc.) to move or close the window. This isn’t an internet-related problem.

I’m struggling to find a lasting solution. Here’s an example: when scrolling on Google, part of the screen updates while the rest remains frozen. The PC specs I have are: NVIDIA RTX 5090, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB DDR5, Corsair Vengeance DDR5, 6000MHz RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD (OS drive), Gigabyte S2 Pro SSD (4TB), and a Gigabyte Aorus Elite M.2 SSD. The BIOS is recent, but I haven’t updated the NVIDIA driver since May 12th. I’ve tried updating to the newer version, but it hasn’t helped.

I noticed in a Reddit video that some parts of the screen register and move when scrolling, while other areas stay static. I’m not sure which settings matter or how to adjust them.

As for your questions:
- The monitor is Samsung Odyssey G9 5120x1440p at 240Hz.
- If you have a clean NVIDIA graphics driver update from the official site, it didn’t help.
- For users with Wallpaper Engine installed, a small compatibility issue can occur; disabling hardware acceleration or the engine often resolves it.
- I’ve tried turning it off in settings, but it still works for Discord and Spotify.

If you need further guidance, please let me know your exact setup and any recent changes.

This seems like a frustrating issue. Have you attempted a restart already? If not, consider reinstalling the GPU drivers from the provided link. During installation, check the box for a clean install to potentially resolve the problem.

You've already tried several restarts and updated the driver without reinstalling the one provided. The clean installation option was selected, but you encountered a black screen during the NVIDIA update process. The issue persists even when running in fullscreen mode. Your observation about it not working in fullscreen is helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Really silly of me, but the driver update never actually showed up. I just looked at the NVIDIA app and saw an option to install the driver. It’s starting a clean install now (probably), though I’m still stuck with a black screen. I’ll wait about 15 minutes just to be safe, because I can’t see the screen and can’t tell how long it’ll take. Then I’ll have to restart the PC and hope it works this time—hoping that fixes the problem. It’s frustrating since I can’t even see what’s happening.
