Issues encountered with ASUS GS-AX3000 in AI-mesh Wi-Fi and hardwired setup!
The setup includes three ASUS GS-AX3000 devices and one TUF-AX3000 router. A Fritz! router from my ISP connects to the main Asus router. Besides being linked via AI Mesh, all ASUS models are also hardwired through Powerline adapters to reduce lag for competitive gaming. Two PCs are connected to two separate ASUS GS-AX3000 configurations acting as nodes, both facing the same issue mentioned. Changing the backhaul mode from hardwire to 5GHz or 2.4GHz breaks the internet connection entirely, making the router unusable. You can't reach the overlay node while it's hardwired from a PC to the router. To fix this, you need to switch the backhaul mode back to automatic (hardwire) or disconnect the router from the Powerline adapter, which will restore functionality in 5GHz/2.4GHz. Have anyone experienced similar problems? Do you have any suggestions on what might cause these issues when switching modes? I've attached a screenshot of the AI Mesh configuration for your reference.
The frequent changes in backhaul medium are necessary to maintain performance. Disrupting the mesh network and updating antenna bands is expected. Proceed with AiMesh setup without further interference.
