Issues during streaming specific games via Discord with a new GPU
Current specifications include Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASUS PRIME RTX 5070, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz, 2TB NVME, MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk, MSI MPG A850G 850W Gold, Windows 11. Streaming certain games like Escape from Tarkov and PUBG on Discord often lowers my frame rate to single digits, causing the system to freeze. I've attempted to lower the stream quality to 720p at 30fps without success. I'm using identical settings to a previous setup (i9-10900K + RTX 3070 + 32GB DDR4 4800MHz) that worked perfectly. My suspicion points to GPU usage and possibly a Windows setting, though I'm sure all saved configurations are intact. Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
How is the processor being cooled? What is the case model? What temperatures are observed during heavy use with games and streaming together?

Same settings as previous system (i9-10900K + RTX 3070 + 32GB DDR4 4800MHz) worked perfectly, no problems with games.
Can you share a screenshot of your settings in the Voice & Video section of Discord?
Likely related to GPU usage.

Software question – what Windows 11 edition are you using?
Kraken 240 RGB in an H7 Flow (both by NZXT). The CPU temperature climbs to around 40°C during heavy use and the GPU stays between 50°C and 60°C. I haven’t measured the temperatures while gaming or streaming via Discord, so I’ll follow up on that later.

NVIDIA driver version is 580.88 from 7/31/25. I was using an older version that had the same problem. I haven’t updated since July because there was a Reddit megathread about the 5070 getting damaged by newer drivers.

For your motherboard, ensure you have the newest chipset drivers installed and update to the latest BIOS version (currently 7E51v1A65).

The RAM features AMD's E.X.P.O, so this shouldn't be a problem there either.

It seems Nvidia has had problems with driver support, making AMD's cards seem more reliable. Try disabling the iGPU in BIOS, enter Safe Mode, use DDU to remove all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then install the latest stable driver from Nvidia via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
Also verify if Quality of Service High Packet Priority is enabled in Discord, especially when hardware acceleration is turned off.
