I'm working on configuring port forwarding for your Minecraft server. Your setup photo will help clarify the issue. You're able to connect locally, but the friend can't access it from their network. Any guidance would be really useful. Thanks!

The server is located on a Windows machine. The operating system includes a built-in firewall that requires you to permit specific ports. Windows 10 version mentioned.

No OS is ideal for running a Minecraft server, but some are better suited than others. Consider lightweight options like Linux distributions or custom setups for performance.

Your Mac's model and year are available. You can proceed with Bootcamp to install Windows or Linux/Ubuntu. Note that I haven't used Bootcamp or installed Windows on a Mac before.

Do you share your public WAN IP or the server's LAN IP? Your friend requires your public IP to join.

I’m providing him with the public IP address. The same public address I’ve configured in the server’s settings is being shared.

To ensure port forwarding functions properly, several conditions must be met. First, the server’s IP address should be static or you can reserve it through your router’s DHCP settings for that device. Second, identify the specific ports and protocols involved—whether TCP, UDP, or both. Third, confirm that the server software is permitted within the firewall rules of the connected device. Mac OS includes a built-in firewall, so additional forwarding steps may be required. Lastly, verify that your Internet Service Provider provides a public IP address for you to use.
