Issue with YouTube streaming experience Problem with loading videos and smooth playback
I've begun watching YouTube videos on my mobile recently. Before that, I relied on Chrome (Android), but unfortunately it doesn't let me adjust the video quality—by default it uses the lowest setting. That's why I switched to the Android YouTube app. However, I'm still encountering issues. My internet speed isn't fast enough for HD streaming in real time. Sometimes I need to take my phone away temporarily so the buffering stops. But when I leave it idle, as soon as the screen turns off, the buffering resumes. Even if I buffered some content before leaving the phone on, turning it off erases that data, forcing me to start over. Have you experienced similar problems? I often watch videos for over 30 minutes. With this issue, I'm unable to enjoy YouTube on my phone... Is there a solution to this problem?
The offline viewing feature was added to the YouTube app, yet for 30-minute 720p clips the download size remains around 500-600MB. I can watch those videos on my computer without using much data—about half a GB at most. My PC handles buffering smoothly. On mobile, however, buffering is starting to cause problems. The app doesn’t seem to buffer in the background properly. Is there a solution or workaround?
