I currently use AT&T Internet and DSL. I’ve been exploring other providers mainly because of the speed. At home, with just one device, I get about 15 Mbps download and 0.92 upload according to Speedtest. But when more devices are connected, speeds drop to around 9 Mbps download. Many people have told me this is poor performance, suggesting I switch. I’ve noticed others using spectrum WiFi or other ISPs can reach 200-400 Mbps easily. It’s surprising that AT&T hasn’t improved their network in my area yet, or at least hasn’t offered alternatives beyond DSL. Also, when someone else uses the connection for large downloads or uploads, speeds plummet drastically—often taking 30 minutes to an hour just to finish a 1 GB file. Would you consider changing ISPs to something like spectrum or another option? The slow speed and high monthly cost of around $70 are really frustrating.

70 dollars and 15 megabits per second? Switch now, man! I’m on Xfinity and I get about the same for 70 Mbps.

It's confirmed the plan is on track. The transition to fiber is extensive, and there are still many locations without viable alternatives.
