Issue with XMP support on MSIB550 and Corsair-CM4X16GC3200C16K2E-2x16GB
I have acquired this PC from a local shop that sets it up for you and assembles it with AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, Nvidia RTX 4080-S, Corsair-CM4X16GC3200C16K2E-2x16GB MSI B550-A. My issue is that my RAM speed is stuck at 2133 Hz. I updated the BIOS and adjusted the OC settings to XMP1 or XMP2 but the system keeps restarting before it boots. In MOBO it shows 2133 Hz, while the OC lists 3200 Hz. When I start Windows, it returns to 2133 Hz and then restarts again until I turn off XMP profiles. Anyone know what might be wrong? Also, the RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4 (optimized slots).
It might occur, particularly with Corsair RAM. Consider reducing the clocks to 3000MHz, apply XMP first, then adjust only that setting.
I need to verify that I reduced the 3200 MHz RAM to 3000 before stabilizing the system.
Picture the hassle of shipping a desktop to a store and holding its return. If it’s merely a configuration choice, I’d handle it. I’ve put my own effort into it and appreciated each step, though time constraints now prevent me from doing it. This would be feasible even with limited PC-building experience.
