Issue with XMP profile on 3800 MHz RAM in X570 Aorus Master
Hello, I'm using an x570 Aorus Master with a Ryzen 3700X and have purchased some RAM kits to see which performs best. I currently have a 3800MHz CL34 kit from G.Skill Trident Z Neo 4x8 32GB, but the XMP profile isn't loading. I've tried setting timings and frequencies manually, even adjusting to 3733MHz, but it doesn't boot. The 3600MHz CL34 model works fine. My motherboard's QVL supports 3600MHz and should be compatible for that speed, yet it isn't achieving it. Why can't I go higher than 3600MHz? I've also tried overclocking the 3600MHz version to 3733, but it still doesn't work.
Your CPU lacks the memory controller needed for 3800MHz. Try using 3800C16 and check if it functions. The Ryzen DRAM calculator could assist if you're aiming for 3800C14, but results aren't assured. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ryz...alculator/
Check if your 4x8GB unit appears in the QVL or if it's just a 3800MHz model from that manufacturer with matching specifications.
I believe the issue centers around your CPU and the infinity fabric setup. Few CPUs can handle infinity fabric at over 1800 MHz, let alone 3800 MHz with a 1:1 memory ratio. At 3600 MHz, the memory would need to run at 1900 MHz, which is challenging for most processors to maintain stability. Since 3600 MHz is feasible, I recommend sticking to that speed and aiming for low timings such as 3600 MHz 14-14-14-32 if you can. This is just an example. Trying 3800 MHz will likely cause more problems than a non-functional system. It can be frustrating, but sometimes it’s better to wait until you upgrade to a CPU with better support for higher speeds.
I just reviewed and it looks like I misread something. The 2x8 is available, while the 4x8 doesn’t seem to be on my motherboard list—great info. I can still submit the kits within 15 days, and I just received them. That’s why I sent three kits to test which performed best. I’ll likely follow @Intelfreak’s advice, thanks.
Hello! I understand you're ready to proceed. How can I assist you today?
