Issue with XMP profile and RAM overclocking not functioning.
Hello everyone, my setup includes an ARROs X570 Pro with WiFi, a 5900x 64GB SSD (four 16GB modules at 3200MHz), Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, and an EVGA 3080. The problem is that my RAM speed stays at 2133MHz even after applying the XMP profile designed for 3200MHz. I see in both BIOS and Windows it still shows 2133MHz. I noticed two modules labeled as Samsung 16GB transfer and the other two as Micron 8GB transfer. Any suggestions on resolving this?
Its actually a pretty common issue 4 dimms dont work well with XMP you can try running 2 ramsticks only
I picked this up mainly from PCBS2, so be cautious and check your own sources. Overclocking your CPU affects XMP only when you skip changing the base clock—you can still tweak the ratio. If you haven’t done any overclocking yet, just follow this advice.
I didn’t encounter this problem before, though my previous setup used an Intel rig. Even after manually boosting the RAM, it still isn’t functioning properly.
CPU won't be overclocked, but performance might stay stable under heavy use, only reaching around 60% capacity. This gives plenty of flexibility.
Enable XMP settings manually. Adjust RAM speed to around 3000, which is lower than your target but still better than the current setting. When using multiple pairs, choose the slowest one in the first channel so XMP can utilize those timings.
You need to reduce some speed compared to what's claimed. Testing it at 3000Mhz could potentially fix the issue.
