Issue with Witcher 3 gameplay Player faces frustrating problems during the game.
I finished Witcher 3 at level 35. It was okay for me, but a friend faced a tough challenge. He joined the quest where Geralt and Triss explore the Sewers, facing the "Katakan." No matter what he did, the enemy never took any damage. His hits seemed to pass through like nothing happened. I heard rumors it might be a bug—his health regenerates too quickly after being hit, making it impossible to defeat. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any ideas or fixes?
I haven't encountered that issue before, but @ Adreyu might have useful tips. A Thunderbolt potion would be helpful, boosting damage. Adding an armor-piercing or burning rune to the silver sword also makes sense.
He faces a tough challenge at this stage, operating at an intermediate level. His equipment seems appropriate for his current standing. I don’t recall any problems with that vampire; I had a similar encounter with the first werewolf, though I left it and returned later. I used a thunderbolt potion and quickly defeated it, applying a quench to counter its first attack. For the Katakan, I’d need igni and thunderbolt, possibly a stamina potion to keep firing igni or a bomb that works against it. (I’m not sure what the answer was) Oh, and do you know if he carries any oils?
There's a massive patch (1.07) coming "soon", so if that's a bug there's a chance it will get fixed.
