Hello. Windows began updating but then stopped working after you turned off the laptop. You attempted a repair, but nothing resolved the issue. A portable version of Windows started successfully. Your concern is whether you can proceed with the update manually using the portable installation.

You may attempt an SFC/SCANOW using the Windows installation prompt. If it fails, reinstall Windows and keep this note in mind. Avoid turning off your PC during updates.
