Windows keeps pushing updates and each time it changes, my microphone behaves oddly and sounds distorted. I’m stuck going back to the version I was using before. I’ve experimented with different sample rates during the latest update, but everyone else still hears the same thing. It’s getting frustrating having to undo updates whenever Windows updates itself unexpectedly. Do you know if anyone else has faced this issue and found a fix?

What type of USB connection are you using and how does it connect to your PC? Does this issue appear only with that microphone or across different devices? If you connect the mic directly via 3.5mm jack, it should function properly. Does the problem occur in local settings, online, or both? Is it present in every software application? Since driver conflicts are likely the cause when it’s local, reinstalling the appropriate drivers for the interface should resolve the issue.

It's the XLR version and it goes directly to the main power supply to run the mic, then connects to a 3.5mm jack on the motherboard. I haven't tried it with other mics since I only have one, but I'm sure it's causing issues because the mic keeps glitching across all software. When I enable the self-monitoring mode, I even hear myself sounding robotic or muffled.

Restart the audio drivers and observe the results. It seems there are no further actions needed besides hoping the Microsoft update resolves the issue.

Adjust the microphone to 16-bit 44.1kHz and ensure the output matches that frequency.
