Issue with Wi-Fi mesh network leading to IPTV freezing.
I'm working with a TP-Link Deco wifi 6 mesh system (Deco X20) to cover my home network. I also have a frontier fiber connection at 500 mbps. I use iptv for my TV entertainment and have been trying out various services without any problems so far. I have one I enjoy and want to buy, but it occasionally freezes without buffering. I'm using a Nvidia Shield Pro and switched to Google Chrome to check if the issue persists. It seems the problem might be linked to the Wi-Fi router. Anyone know what could be causing this?
It is probably due to the mesh system you are using. Even in optimal conditions, you now receive two radio signals instead of one, which can cause interference and data drops. Mesh systems lacking dedicated communication chips for the main router also interfere with each other, as they use the same radio for both end-user connections and data transmission back to the main router. Often, a weaker single router performs better than a mesh system with stronger signal but higher data loss. A signal router should generally suffice for most homes. The real reason for weak Wi-Fi coverage isn’t the router’s strength, but rather interference from neighboring routers using mesh technology. My belief is that your main issue stems from improper installation of the remote mesh units. They shouldn’t be placed in remote areas as shown in simple diagrams; instead, they must be positioned where they receive a strong signal from the main router while still providing good coverage to other rooms. If there are walls or ceilings involved, placement becomes a matter of trial and error. If the problem is isolated to one website not working while others do, this scenario doesn’t fit the previous explanations. The Wi-Fi network in your home doesn’t recognize IP addresses or internet concepts, so it should face similar issues regardless of the site you’re connected to.
A slow internet link may cause freezing issues. Check your speed online to confirm you have enough bandwidth for IPTV. If your connection is weak, restart your modem.
