Hello everyone! I recently accidentally spilled water on my HP Victus and quickly got it to some friends who left it to dry for two days. It’s now working properly, but whenever I close the laptop and then try to open it again, it displays an error: "boot device not found." I usually reset it, but I notice that after plugging it in, it looks like the battery has been drained. I’m not sure what the issue is, but it doesn’t seem too serious. It still functions well, even for heavy games, and performs nicely otherwise. The only thing that bothers me is the error appears every time I turn it off and on, and the charger LED blinks briefly. Anyone with experience or ideas might help!

just drying isn't enough
open it up, disconnect all connections and clean everything—including unplugged cables and plugs—using isopropyl alcohol or a similar electronics cleaner
after that let it dry for one day
the hard drive or the motherboard may have an issue or the connection could be faulty

It probably doesn't matter right now. The system has been active since the spill and may have damaged some parts.
It's still important to follow what I recommended, but be clear with the OP—it won't automatically solve everything. It could work, or it might not.

Thank you for your feedback and the detailed update! I was concerned about potential problems with the motherboard due to possible corrosion. After inspecting it and replacing the affected driver inside the hard drive, everything is functioning properly now. I've been using it for a few days without any issues, and it's performing just as expected.
