I was always aware that GTA 4 had a poor port, but I didn’t think it could be this bad. Because it was on sale, I bought all the GTA games since I really like GTA 5 on 360. Now I can’t even adjust any of my settings. My resolution is stuck at 800 x 600! It says my hardware is insufficient, but my specs (listed below) are much higher than average. Ugh. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Killswit...ved/mMzp99

Use Steam, open it, navigate to the library, right-click GTA IV, then go to properties on the first page. In the box, enter "norestrictions" without quotes. If the game indicates insufficient VRAM, add "availablevidmem x.x" (e.g., 4.0 for a 4GB system) and apply before launching.

It might be a simple idea, but if you right-click the game you should see some settings in Properties to disable automatic updates. It’s a good idea to look into it. Since I’m not at home, I can’t confirm the exact details.

I tried that, but the display shows 1 with 3GB of VRAM while I actually have 4, and I’m still unable to adjust the settings.
