Issue with V-Sync and frame rate problems.
Recently I enabled V-Sync at 55 FPS across all games, but I can't determine the cause. Previously it worked smoothly at 60 FPS. Now it locks to 100+ FPS on titles like Rocket League, Elder Scrolls Online and CSGO. Turning it off brings the frame rate above 100 FPS, indicating my system can handle it. CPU: AMD 1600, GPU: AMD R9 290, Monitor: 29UC88-B FreeSync.
Maybe your display isn't configured with the correct refresh speed. To verify or adjust, open your desktop home screen, click left, and select AMD graphics settings (for NVIDIA it will prompt "NVIDIA Control Panel"). There you’ll see your refresh rate; if missing, click the appropriate option and it should update. If it still doesn’t appear, try limiting your frame rate to match the monitor’s capabilities instead of enabling VSync.
Review your monitor configurations—perhaps the refresh rate is set to 55Hz or something unusual. It looks like a strange problem otherwise. Unfortunately, AMD GPUs don<|pad|> can’t include this tool, so it should be fixed! This might just be a driver issue; try restarting the Radeon software or DDU, and it could resolve.
