About a week ago my computer began shutting down unexpectedly. I couldn't identify any significant change that might have triggered this. It appears connected to another problem. Recently, while removing unused applications, I deleted around ten Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables. This led to a series of missing .dll files appearing as error messages each time I restarted and logged in. These two events seem linked since the restart stopped completely during the period of errors. Today I attempted to resolve the issues using advice from a forum, and after installing the VC++ runtime pack, the errors disappeared. However, shortly after, my PC restarted again. It seems these events are connected, though I still wonder if it’s just coincidence. This machine has been with me for about six months, and I haven’t experienced hardware stability problems. It’s likely a software issue. Any insights or fixes would be helpful.

rule one... avoid removing the runtime library for games and software. They typically install what they require, though some dependencies might remain hidden. If you wish to tidy up your setup, reinstall and save your profile to a different drive. Erase the old files and begin anew—it saves time compared to endless troubleshooting.

I sensed it was a poor move right away. I was certain my setup was handling the workload efficiently, but upon closer inspection, it matches typical performance levels. The positive side is it only occurred once today. Perhaps it’s alright now, right?
