You're encountering issues with Zorin on your Windows laptop through VMWare Workstation 16. It appears the system treats the connection as wired even though it's WiFi, and it doesn't recognize the touchpad for scrolling. The two-finger scroll gesture isn't functioning. This behavior isn't widely reported, so it might be a known quirk or specific to your setup.

You didn't add the VMware drivers to the guest operating system. It detects the virtual network card from VMware, not the Wi-Fi card on your laptop.

I have to admit, I’m not sure. I just allowed it to install.

You might want to stop there. Check this VMware resource. https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1022525
