Inserting any device into the USB-A port has no effect. It's connected to a laptop. The previous time I faced this problem, I powered it off and on again, which resolved it, but this time it didn't work. I looked for updates and verified the drivers were current. The laptop model is Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, and the port in question is labeled number 5, nearer to the Ethernet port.

I reinstalled the drivers, cleared out the devices, and checked other devices plugged into the same port. Still nothing resolved.

I'm surprised it functioned properly and I managed to resolve the issue before. It's not because I misuse my laptop; it remains in the same location consistently.
