I started Insurgency today and noticed it wouldn't launch properly—it showed an error about the application missing. I wasn't playing it recently, but it worked before. After checking the game cache, it reported four files were missing and would be re-downloaded. Once the download finished, Norton appeared and warned that the main executable was a Trojan and had been removed. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

It seems like the file appears to be a legitimate executable as well.

Start by removing Norton. Next, download a free version of Malwarebytes. Finally, aim to gain some benefit from this process.

I'm unsure if I should disable Norton or retry the download.

Hey there! Avast might come into play if you need it.

Ensure all files are removed carefully, then verify the program directory within Steam, and it will resolve any missing items.

Norton handled the removal, and after I verified the files, Steam automatically re-downloaded them while Norton deleted them again.

Let it go then, not the first instance Norton has stopped a benign file.

While searching for a fix, it seems to be impacting Avast as well.

This appears to be a widespread fix affecting many virus programs, not limited to Norton.
