Issue with the second monitor connection!
Issue with the second monitor connection!
Hello everyone. I recently added a second monitor to my motherboard using an HDMI cable because I didn’t want to overload the graphics card with extra pressure. I’m trying to use the integrated GPU from my CPU instead of a dedicated one. With the main monitor, my video card uses between 7 to 12 watts. When I connect the second monitor to the motherboard, the usage stays similar—almost the same as when it’s plugged into the main card. That’s curious because it seems like the second monitor is working through the video card, but how does that happen when it’s connected differently? When I turn off the second monitor, the usage drops back down to around 10 watts. Thanks for your help!
It seems like your setup has some confusion. When using a dedicated GPU, your integrated graphics should be active. If you're seeing issues, double-check your connections and settings. What device are you connecting to?
Check if the integrated GPU is turned on in your BIOS settings. Ensure it's enabled before starting your RX 580.
Open the BIOS settings, as it might turn off the integrated graphics when a PCIe GPU is plugged in. If that's active, look into the Device Manager. Once there, verify the drivers are up to date.
By default, the igpu is turned off when a graphics card is installed on the motherboard. It doesn't apply when connecting a second monitor. You'll need to enable a setting like iGPU Multi-Monitor to use both the igpu and a graphics card together.
