CPU: Intel i7 14700k
CPU cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer iii 420
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite X Wifi 7 rev1.0 Bios F8 (F8e remains same, persistent issue)
Ram: G.Skillz Trident 7200 32gb kit
SSD/HDD: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB Gen4
GPU: Asus Tuf RTX 4070 Ti
PSU: Corsair RM 1000x (2024) (previous model RM1000x Shift 2023 version used)
Chassis: Corsair 7000x
OS: Windows 11
Monitor: Alienware AW2723DF

As mentioned, I've been experiencing crashes specifically in Fortnite. Initially, Fortnite runs normally; I can join a match and within about a minute my FPS drops to 30 while audio stops. Attempting other tasks on the PC, such as closing Fortnite, causes freezing and displays an error message.

I haven't encountered any problems with other games like WoW, PUGB, GTA5, Borderlands 3, or Fall Guys (which also uses Easy Anti-Cheat). The issue consistently appears only when loading into a Fortnite match. All games are installed on the same NVMe SSD.

This problem began roughly two months ago. Prior to this, I had no issues running any software. The changes that occurred were updating my BIOS to the latest version and applying the newest drivers, including the chipset. I also replaced a PSU due to fan problems about a month before this issue started.

The only BIOS adjustments I made—before or after upgrading—were setting RAM to XMP1 and altering two system fan settings to PWM. I reverted both changes, but it had no impact.

I even considered the possibility that it might relate to Fortnite's Easy Anti-Cheat software, but testing with other games using the same software didn't trigger any issues.

My diagnostic tests have shown:
- Windows Memory Diagnostic: no problems
- Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool: no issues
- OCCT CPU + Ram: no errors
- OCCT CPU only: 1 WHEA error (old BIOS), 2 WHEA errors (latest BIOS)
- OCCT Memory only: 1 WHEA error (old BIOS), 2 WHEA errors (latest BIOS)

I have also reset all BIOS settings, removed unnecessary USB devices and peripheral options, and disabled all DX modes in Fortnite to the minimum.

Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’m unable to resolve this issue and have already explored other avenues. Since I’m outside the US, I’d prefer to try an RMA before proceeding with returns due to shipping complications.

Motherboard - Z790 Aorus Elite X Wifi7 rev 1.0
CPU - i7 14700k
RAM - G.Skill Trident DDR5 32GB Kit 7200MT
GPU - Asus RTX 4070 Ti
When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide complete system details. List your specifications clearly as follows:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
RAM:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the PSU age along with its make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.
I also had to swap out a PSU because of fan problems, which happened about a month prior to this issue.
If the replacement was done with the same brand and model, just mention the new unit’s details. If it was for another system, state the previous unit’s make and model.
