Hello everyone, I just purchased the Ryzen 5 5600X. For the CPU, I have a Ryzen 5 5600X, I realize there could be a bottleneck and I was saving up to upgrade to AM5. Luckily, things didn’t go as planned—RAM and SSD prices have gone up a lot. I’m considering an upgrade to my PC and thinking about getting a better AM4 CPU. What do you think?
The best upgrade is a 5700X3D or 5800X3D. For 1440p, the 5600x works well enough with a 9070 XT.
Honestly, unless you can find a used 5700X3D or 5800X3D for a reasonable price (like under $300 USD), I would just stick with the 5600X. It's not like your PC is going to blow up if you are CPU-limited. If you have a CPU bottleneck and can't maintain a consistent frame rate, using a frame capper like that found in RTSS and capping to a frame rate you can mostly hit consistently will usually help make the game feel better. When you're CPU-limited, a capped consistent frame rate is often more pleasant than a frame rate with a higher average but big frame time swings. If you then find yourself with a ton of extra GPU headroom because of the capped frame rate, you can increase image quality using Virtual Super Resolution to get more out of your GPU.
Check the non-3D alternatives since they’re scarce and costly in Greece.
