Issue with the motherboard? Computer fails to power on.
Hey everyone, two weeks ago I assembled the PC with those specifications: DDR4 2x16GB 3600MHz RAM, Asus dual AMD RX 6600, Corsair CX 650W PSU, Gigabyte B550M DS3H, Ryzen 5 5600. Everything functioned properly until today. While watching a video, the machine shut down abruptly without any warning or error messages, and it won’t power back up now. I’ve tried several fixes: changed the PSU cables, removed the CMOS battery and held the power button for a minute, swapped out both RAM sticks into different slots, used a different PSU from my old setup (EVGA 500W), and even used my old RAM sticks. Still nothing. Am I missing something? Could be the motherboard issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
You're correct to consider further checks. It might be useful to test the RAM and CPU as well. You've already adjusted the RAM placement, which is a good step. Have you tried using just one RAM stick? I've noticed this can happen when a CPU fails unexpectedly. The best way to confirm is by swapping in another CPU or running your current one on a different system. The power supply unit could also be involved, but since you've ruled that out with another PSU, it's not likely right now. Good luck!
