Issue with the IO port on Samsung Odyssey g3
I understand the DP to HDMI cables. The problem is my PC lacks a DP port, so this fix won't fully resolve it. I'm looking for clues about the underlying reason before opening the monitor. If that doesn't work, I'll consider a DP-to-HDMI converter or a new display. I'm hoping to avoid any temporary fixes. The formatting was a bit messy.
You could connect the adapter to your computer using an HDMI cable, then attach the DP output from the adaptor to your monitor. If previous attempts worked, this might get it running temporarily. However, the monitor may still need professional inspection—technicians can check its internal components and determine if repairs are possible. Some issues, like a faulty capacitor, might be fixable. You can find similar adapters on Amazon for around ten dollars. One example is listed here: https://www.amazon.ca/BENFEI-DisplayPort...B017Q8ZVWK. Another option is: https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-DisplayP...B0DJ2XZB1X. If you haven’t tried it before, it’s worth a look but not guaranteed to work.
But overlooked a question: if your setup lacks a DP, where did you obtain the DP signal? When you tried it: "When I linked it as Display Port-HDMI, the monitor activated." Or did this imply you set the connection to DP in the display's settings while plugging the cable via HDMI?
