Issue with the faulty port on the Maxsun RX580 GPU
I own a Maxsun RX580 with 4GB RAM. After thorough cleaning with alcohol and drying, it worked fine until it crashed. It restarted but still didn’t show anything. I was worried about the cost and ended up buying a cheaper alternative. When I upgraded to a new GPU and reinstalled it, it functioned again, though the display would vanish briefly before returning. Today it’s back online. I’m considering selling it as a defective unit at a fair price since the port wasn’t working properly. Someone was offering around $20 for a faulty port. I’m curious if it can be repaired so I can give it to a friend. I’m still learning about PCBs and hardware repairs. Thanks for your help!
If you're referring to something else, it's not possible to repair it. However, someone else might be able to help, though it could be costly. You could also try changing the GPU port.
I hadn't considered the VRMs before. I became curious about swapping the ports, but since everything isn't functioning properly when the system shuts down, it seems best to rely on someone with more experience. I sold it for twenty dollars, hoping he can repair it and bring a new person joy.
