Hello! You're dealing with a common setup issue. The signal strength drops significantly as you move away from the main router, which is why your phone and Chromecast only get limited speeds. The Ethernet cable helps repeat the signal but doesn't fully compensate for the distance or interference. Since you've reset the old router and tried to configure it, it might be stuck in a default state. Checking the router's settings for proper placement and ensuring no other devices are overloading the network could help. If the problem persists, sharing your config images might reveal more details.

Suggest using the forum’s “Spoiler” button (eyeball icon) for those images. It helps narrow down the content. Check if your device is connected through Ethernet to the second router. Also, note the speed you experienced on your phone and Chromecast prior to this problem.

It seems everything is working fine now. Previously, I got around 20mbps, but after switching to ADSL, it dropped to 4G. It doesn’t seem like a direct comparison.

Being near the router often improves wireless performance. Distance from the router can significantly affect speed and connectivity.

Same result regardless of whether the phone rests on the router

My Chromecast seems to be functioning a bit, though it's only managing around 20mbps.

WiFi performance problems are often hard to diagnose. I’d think your router might be distributing bandwidth unevenly, favoring your computer more than others. The settings you shared don’t mention this, but some routers let you assign priority to specific devices. It’s possible your PC is getting extra attention, so any network use reduces the data available to other gadgets.
