Hello! I recently upgraded my components and began assembling. While connecting all the new connectors, I noticed my old Chieftec PSU only supports a 4-pin CPU port. With my MSI H610M-G Pro motherboard, I’m curious about its compatibility and performance compared to a better PSU. If it doesn’t fit, I’d appreciate recommendations on suitable options. I’ve reviewed the PSU tier list but haven’t fully understood it. Should I consider the Corsair CV 550W 80 Bronze, or would that be a subpar choice? Since I can’t find another local option, I’m hoping to find a good one on Amazon.

It's possible a 4-pin cable could work if the CPU needs minimal power. Test it and check if the motherboard starts without issues using that cable.

I'll be using my PC mostly for gaming Rust and League of Legends. Since Rust is CPU-intensive, I just chose to get a new power supply. My old PSU was six years old anyway, and it was in the E-tier so I didn't want to risk damaging my rig.
