Issue with SuperMicro X9SCM-F not booting properly.
My NAS setup includes a SuperMicro X9SCM-F motherboard with an Xeon E3-1220L chipset. Recently I couldn’t reach the server and noticed it wasn’t operating. After cleaning and troubleshooting, it powers up when the PSU is switched on and the speaker emits four beeps. This count isn’t listed in the manual, but a forum mention of “Unrecognized Processor” might explain the issue. Despite previous stable performance for a year, I suspect the hardware could have failed. I replaced a used Xeon E3-1240 from eBay with identical specs. No changes to RAM or cooling helped. The board still doesn’t display video output, and IPMI access isn’t possible since no IP address was configured. I urgently need it working again because I have video evidence that’s essential.
I looked in my room for another and didn’t find one. I assumed I had one, but it looks like it’s missing. I’ll need to get a replacement to try it out again.
