I searched for a fresh gaming experience and Valorant just launched. I'm running a Razor Blade 15 with a 1660 TI and an i7-10750H. I haven't run into any performance issues aside from occasional mouse movement affecting frame rates—about 6 fps drops and some glitches. For instance, when I move the mouse, the screen seems to shift direction briefly. I usually get around 100 fps with my keyboard for actions like strafing, but the same issue appears when watching others. It looks like the problem isn't related to my hardware specs, but I appreciate any advice. Thanks!

It makes me think about whether the issue is tied to your mouse or trackpad. I wonder if switching devices resolves the problem. If not, it might not be significant, but if it does, it could point to mouse-related problems.

I’ll definitely consider using a spare mouse, etc., but the frame rate dropping remains confusing.

A mouse update could resolve the issue, indicating the driver's poor CPU efficiency. The update tries to push a software fix.

I used a budget gaming mouse that I had hidden away for some time. It worked smoothly for a short while, but soon the frame rate dropped consistently whenever I turned it around. I’ll share a video soon so you can see what’s happening. Still, thank you very much for your assistance. P.S. It might be connected to CPU usage and drivers, though the mouse I tried didn’t have any installed.

No additional drivers were provided. It relied on the standard OS driver most likely.

I identified the problem as being in Windows 10 game mode, turn it off.

I encountered the same problem. Enabling raw mouse buffer in Valorant helps me. Source
