Hey there, I'm trying to figure out why the game keeps crashing and feels really sluggish. I've got a Pentium G3258 with an OC of 4.4GHz, a GTX 770 with 4GB RAM and 8GB total, but nothing seems to work no matter the settings. Anyone have any ideas or fixes?

Your CPU has a dual-core design, but it needs at least four cores to meet the minimum requirement. The G3258 is quick, though.

They suggest using a quad-core processor, at least two cores minimum, but that’s all. It shouldn’t cause stutters or crashes, though performance might dip slightly. I’m not sure, but from what I’ve played, it runs smoothly without extreme lag spikes.

You've tried the same configuration and issue, but it only works at the highest settings after several restarts. You're still looking for a solution.

This seems unusual. It would be wise to refresh your graphics card drivers. The explanation from @Tom about the CPU doesn’t seem likely. There could be a driver-related problem causing microstuttering.

The newest drivers are probably the cause, maybe it's just GTA V. I've faced several problems with the game itself.

Review this, or search it online. It should work fine on a dual-core system too. Consider stopping unnecessary background tasks—like antivirus scans—to improve performance.

GTA V demands a powerful processor. Even an OCd i5 has trouble keeping it running smoothly.
