A few months back, my internet speed jumped from about 9-20 to a steady 100 regardless of the game I played. I've changed my router, updated software and firmware on both my NBN modem and PC, but nothing worked. I live in Canberra, Australia, and usually connect to Sydney servers which are around 300km away—this isn’t the problem, nor does it explain the sudden spike. My connection gives me 100mb/s download and 20mb/s upload, so bandwidth isn’t the issue either. I’ve removed every other device in the house and still had a 100 ping. I also tried using an Ethernet cable, but it didn’t help. Another odd thing is that when joining a server in any game, my ping started low (like 13 or 20) and then rose to 100 within about 15 seconds. I’m confused and need help.
