It seems the issue might be related to graphics or screen settings, but it's not easy to describe. While playing games I notice a dark, grainy look, and when adjusting display settings the screen becomes dimmer and text unclear. The device model is listed as a 24-inch VID file from Pixio.

Likely a VA black smearing issue. That's the problematic vertical "blergh"

Connect your PC to a different screen or use HDMI to a TV to check—this suggests the monitor problem isn’t with the graphics card.
