Hello. I chose to upgrade my old R5 2600X to an R7 5800X3D, but something isn’t working. I updated my BIOS using the latest version from the official MSI website. Version: 7C02v1J1 (Beta). Released on: 2023-05-18. When I installed the new CPU and turned it on, the PC started but nothing happened. The motherboard lights up with a red CPU indicator, and that’s all.

Consider giving your CPU a fresh install. You won’t have to reapply thermal paste.

Inspect the connections on the latest CPU. It seems there could be an issue with power delivery—testing it on another board or system would clarify if it's functioning properly.

I resolved the issue, it was related to the RAM, specifically one RAM stick, and the CPU began working again.
