You recently created a new build but it doesn’t boot properly. You keep receiving warnings about the CPU exceeding its voltage limit. In BIOS you see the voltage listed as 2.432V, yet your CPU only drops below ~1.8V when running. Any higher and the system fails to start. I’ve updated the BIOS before, but it didn’t help. Temperatures are normal. This issue has been mentioned in past posts about CPUs, motherboards, and memory.

2.4V could destroy your CPU! Make sure the sensors are accurate? If they are, return the board—it’s clearly faulty.

The temperatures stayed below 66°C most of the time, usually around 50°C or less according to the bios. The only peak came after several system restarts because I was adjusting the voltage settings. I'm pretty sure the problem lies with the sensor. Gore warning: I attempted to set the CPU voltage to 1.55V, which matched the maximum allowed by the bios, but after a restart I was told the CPU was running just over 3V.

Here’s a screenshot of the BIOS displaying voltage information. Let me know if you need further details!

Initial image applies standard BIOS configurations, final shot follows after reboot with "1.55v" adjustment. Packages run at 44c, CPU at 37, motherboard at 33.

It seems unusual; perhaps the CMOS battery is failing or the circuit is faulty. Entering a safe 1.35V for CPU voltage might be necessary to prevent damage.

I changed the CMOS battery to one I thought was functional, but it didn’t help. The 1.35V should be around 2.7V. When I input voltage, it roughly doubles. I tried different values to figure out the process. The numbers I gave are half of what the BIOS shows.

It seems the problem was with the motherboard, probably due to a defective sensor.
