Issue with Ryzen 5 3600R5 3600 processor Performance problems reported after purchase
I upgraded from my Ryzen 5 1600 to the 3600, and everything functioned properly after installation. Once I opened Ryzen Master and turned on Precision Boost Overdrive, the software disappeared from the BIOS. My screen went black and the system wouldn’t respond. I reinstalled the original chipset and it worked fine. I tried clearing the CMOS and removing the battery, but nothing helped. Also, the CPU was showing RGB even though it wasn’t connected. The motherboard is an ASUS Prime X470 PRO, with Trident Z Neo GPU RTX 2060 and a NXT Kraken X52 cooler.
Don't assume the CPU is non-functional. Perform all your overclocking tasks within BIOS. My advice: On Windows with the 1600 installed, launch Ryzen Master and revert it to its default settings. Uninstall it afterward. Restart, navigate to BIOS, reset everything back to defaults, then power down the system. Turn off the PSU switch and clear the CMOS jumper pins for ten seconds—extend if you need more precision. Finally, reinstall the 3600. Reset the CMOS once more before your next use.
