Issue with routing on AOT-4221SR device
I need to redirect traffic through specific ports for setting up a server (Conan Exiles). I've completed all the steps but the ports remain blocked. The ports I want to allow are 7777, 7778, 27015, and 25575. I've tried configuring inbound and outbound rules in the Windows firewall for both TCP and UDP. I even disabled the firewall temporarily. I turned off the antivirus (Bit Defender) and set the firewall in the antivirus. My router doesn’t seem to support port forwarding, yet it still shows the ports as closed. When I check a port checker site, there’s no static IP assigned. My ISP is Airtel, I’m using Windows 10, and I’m based in India. I’m not very familiar with networking, and I’m unsure what an internal client refers to (see second image). The desktop connection changes to my mobile phone unexpectedly.
Confirm if you're not caught in a CGNAT setup. Why are all your internal clients using phones and it doesn't make any sense?
Based on what I've found online about the cgnat, it seems they aren't being used because my ISP is similar to AT&T in my area—they're large and well-established. I'm not sure why it reverts back to my mobile phones. When I set up port forwarding on my desktop, I wasn't sure what the purpose was, but clicking a device name shows a list of devices. I chose my desktop name, and it added my local IPv4 address to the local IP.
Not familiar with the connection to cgNAT. Several providers now use it because IPv4 addresses are limited and it helps reduce costs. Verify if your public IP begins with 100.64-127.x.x. Even without cgNAT, ISPs occasionally block specific ports to stop hosting services on residential plans.
Your IP address begins with 223.178.xx.xx. That format is acceptable, but you might want to double-check the rest of the numbers for accuracy. Regarding port forwarding, it’s possible if you contact your ISP or use a router that supports it. Since customer support doesn’t understand the concept, you could ask them to explain it better or confirm if port forwarding is available on your network.
I'm not sure how to locate the IP in my router. I searched through some settings and found one. I attached both IP addresses. https://ibb.co/F3BWf3G https://ibb.co/PCfv3BJ I realized the addresses aren't the same. What does this mean? Edited April 26, 2024 by jaya dinesh forgot to add a line
