Issue with restarting system twice Problem during initial setup and after multiple reboots
Hello, welcome to the forum! I installed Linux Mint on my laptop in the D: partition and everything worked fine, but after restarting I don’t see a boot menu to choose an OS. Now the laptop boots directly into Windows 7 without prompting. I found a solution online, but it doesn’t seem to help. Thanks for your time and any advice you can offer. I’m using a Live CD (it’s a USB stick) and have tried the commands you mentioned.
It appears the boot loader wasn<|pad|>, should be placed on the main hard drive, not a separate partition.
Sure, I can guide you through the process. You can capture the drive in Drive Manager to better understand the situation. For the Grub2 boot loader menu, you might need to check the installation or configuration files. If the issue persists, please describe the symptoms so we can address them accurately.
Launch the start menu, input "msconfig," and launch it. Navigate to the boot section and verify Windows isn't set as the default. If needed, reinstall Mint and select the install alongside Windows option.
