Issue with RAM XMP profile not working – resolved.
Hey everyone, just checking in about the Ryzen 2700 + MSI B450 gaming pro carbon with 16GB RAM and the 2x 8Gb Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 MHz. I set the XMP profile and confirmed in BIOS it’s targeting 3200 MHz, but CPU-Z shows it’s running at the base spec of 2133 MHz. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
manually setting didnt have effect either - heres cpuz screenshot Edited August 26, 2020 by andreweddy spelling
In slots 2 and 4 – we'll test voltages and make updates. Appreciate the info; chipset drivers are up to date too.
Right then – sorry for the delay. I’ve been on annual leave and avoiding COVID for a while, so I tried a 1.15V, 1.35V, and manually adjusted the voltages to 2400/2666/2800/2933/3200. Every time it just restarted at the default 2133JEDEC speed – odd that changing settings didn’t help with the DRAM speed. I also tried XMP profiles for 2933 and 3200, plus many other tweaks, but nothing worked. I have a screenshot of the BIOS showing default settings when XMP is enabled, and CPUZ at the latest version. Still confused – it was running at 3200 before, now it’s stuck at 2133, but temperatures are fine and airflow is good in my Corsair 570X case. The system feels very stable, no crashes. Any advice would be appreciated – thanks!
