Issue with RAM Performance Affecting Game Experience
Urgent assistance needed – Greetings. I just added a Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000MHz (cl16, VER5.39) RAM to my PC, which already had a similar model (cl16, VER5.30). The sole distinction is the version number. Whenever I launch a game, it crashes immediately and I never reach the main menu. Windows Memtest detected no issues in normal mode. I tried Premiere Pro and it functioned properly despite high memory usage. My system has a Ryzen 3 2200G with Vega 8 GPU; I've set 3GB of VRAM in BIOS and XMP is enabled. Disabling XMP didn't help. P.S. Even Chrome shows an "aw snap" error.
It might not be able to run in dual channel, but I’m not sure. Are the parts set up for dual channel or just single?
I believe the issue could be related to the various versions. It might help to test each version separately and observe the results. If both versions perform similarly on their own, the conflicting versions are likely the cause.
I plan to follow his advice. He recommended getting RAM with identical frequency, timings and subtimings from the same manufacturer. I did exactly that. The specs match and both units are from Hynix. I’ll see how it goes.
I executed it using XMP. The default value became 3000 after applying XMP.
It should operate at the default setting. Those sticks should work fine at 2133mhz. It feels like a good idea to start there, in my opinion. Then gradually raise the frequency (or lower it to 2800 from the 3000 level) — likely you wouldn’t notice much change.
