Issue with PSU or MTHRBRD?
Issue with PSU or MTHRBRD?
Hello everyone, my computer won’t power on when I press the power button. It worked perfectly the previous night and never had any overheating problems. Since July 23rd, it’s been running smoothly without any issues. I’ve tried unplugging and plugging in the cables, checking the front panel cable, re-seating the RAM and GPU, even using a screwdriver to jump-start it—but nothing works. I also tested the power supply and confirmed it functions in another system. I’m unsure what’s causing this. Could be the PSU, the motherboard, or something else. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, VexingLeon
It depends on what you mean by "does not turn on." Are you asking about total inactivity with no response, or is the device still powering on but showing a blank screen afterward?
Yes, there was no response. No spinning fans or lights appeared on the display, only the motherboard's internal lights activated, but no action occurred when the power was pressed.
They use diagnostic LEDs for status indicators and may have RGB lighting for aesthetics. Fans are likely present but not necessarily spinning; the system could be functioning normally. -Moved to Troubleshooting-
When the PSU functions in another system, it's likely not the power supply itself. Have you found another board to test on your current setup? It's possible we collectors sometimes use spare components to experiment.
Have you confirmed the power switch is safe to use? If not, disconnect the power switch header from the front panel connector (power off/unplug), then connect the power supply and test the switch with a screwdriver tap.
