Issue with power and lights on my MSI B550M Pro VDH WiFi
I assembled a PC using an MSI B450M Pro VDH Max, it functioned perfectly. But I had to upgrade it (because of header availability) to an MSI B550M Pro VDH WiFi motherboard, and now I’m facing a problem where the board won’t power on at all. No EZ debug LEDs are showing, and there’s no power.
Here are the details:
Ryzen 5 5600x, GTX 3060ti, Corsair HX750i, MSI B550M Pro VDH WiFi, T-force 2*8gb RAM, MSI 1tb NVMe
What I’ve tried:
Checked that all connections are secure.
Attempted to connect another case’s POWER SW to the motherboard, but it didn’t work.
Ensured the POWER SW cable is fully connected.
Performed a fan test and a paper clip test on the PSU (Corsair HX750i) – both working.
Tried swapping the RAM modules in the slots, still no improvement.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
A fan and a paper clip test on the PSU (Corsair HX750i) worked well.
This result isn't important because it doesn't mention the PSU's power output capabilities.
Corsair HX750i
How recent is your PSU?
Which RAM slots are being used on the motherboard?
You don’t need a case or switch—just connect the +ve and -ve pins on the front panel connector while using only the bare essentials: board, CPU, one stick of RAM, or a discrete GPU.
Without any storage options, you should be able to get the system running.
Thank you! I purchased it used, but I have fewer expectations since there is a faulty component here. The problem lies in this part, as I had no issues before using it with my previous motherboard, the B450M Pro VDH Max. Which RAM slots are connected to the motherboard? Apologies if I misunderstood, but I've tested both slots 1-3 and 2-4. Unfortunately, I don't see any EZ debug LED lighting up.
