Issue with PC shutting down unexpectedly, power button unresponsive, and shorting pins ineffective.
I've experienced a peculiar issue where my computer would abruptly power off at random moments during startup, sometimes just a couple of seconds into the boot process. At first, I thought it might be related to the all-in-one F_PANEL connector I was using on my motherboard, which is designed for Intel systems. However, since I have an AMD board and was supposed to use the breakout cable from the accessory box (NZXT H510 Flow), I replaced the power switch connector with the breakout cable and believed I had resolved the matter. The problem returned after more than 48 hours. Additionally, my PC would shut down with no response at the power button initially, but eventually it would restart and then power off again in just a couple of seconds. There was also an instance where the system would boot automatically when powered on, though this only occurred once.
To verify if this was a power switch or power button issue, I used my spare case's power switch and pressed its button; the PC still shut down. I also attempted to power on the system by shorting the designated pins, but it failed to boot. Now I'm concerned that since I'm past warranty, the problem could stem from the motherboard itself or possibly the power supply unit.
Here’s a summary of my attempts:
1. Changed to a different case
2. Replaced RAMs
3. Used the breakout cable for AMD motherboard (previously unused), but the issue continued.
4. Tried shorting the pins.
What BIOS version is installed on your motherboard? Regarding your setup, what is the age of the power supply unit in your system? Which RAM slots are being used on the motherboard? Please try to work without any extensions and ensure all connections are tight and secure.
